This work addresses the creation of islands as a cycle of earth extraction, burial, destruction, recreation and rebirth. This cycle is familiar and ever-present in our region. Land, seawater and sediment are metaphors for continuous transformation and displacement while remaining within the same territorial environment. My line of inquiry looks to creating fragile, ephemeral, immersive sculptures that explore the present moment in the context of our time through an unstable paradigm.
