The opening line of the poem, “أسمع صدى صوتك مع ضجة الناس” — “I hear the echo of your voice amidst the noise of people”, from ديوان صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم (The Collected Poems of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum), sets the stage for a contemplative mood.

The geometry of sound emerges at the centre of the canvas, drawing the viewer into a state of reflection and focus.

This geometry is depicted on a surface layered with desert dune sand collected from two sites in Dubai. A blue circle encapsulates the echo, while a warm eclipse contrasts it — the deep red and vibrant tones creating visual frequencies and waves that symbolise alignment, focus, and clarity.

The composition of geometry, geology and colour invites peace, dissolving negativity and doubt, invites stillness and focus, offering a meditative space where sound becomes visible; It is an invitation to witness the phenomenon of seeing sound.

Technical study of colour

The juxtaposition of blue and red creates chromostereopsis, a visual illusion in which two-dimensional colours give the impression of depth. This effect is related to chromatic aberration.

Chromatic aberration occurs when light of different wavelengths is refracted differently, causing some rays to converge before others in the eye.

The artist employs this technique to alter perception, generating a subtle, almost surreal sense of energy and motion. It expresses the overlap of imagery and sound, inviting the viewer to experience a form of synesthesia.
